Based in Mauritius with his family, Julien Claessens observed a gap in the local market for decorative photography tailored to residences and hotels. Drawing on his expertise, a 30-year image library, and advanced digital tools like 3D , he creates works at the intersection of art and decoration. Focusing primarily on black-and-white imagery, his creations cater to a specific demand in the local market, offering elegant designs at very accessible prices.
Julien's journey began with a deep appreciation for art. After studying art history, he graduated in 2000 from the prestigious National School of Visual Arts of La Cambre in Brussels. His photography soon found its place in galleries alongside the works of Jean-Loup Sieff and Karl Lagerfeld. This recognition led to collaborations with major French luxury brands such as Chanel and Cartier, and he built a career among the top photographers, enjoying the privilege of working on these prestigious assignments.
In 2017, Julien expanded his creative horizons by founding Ananke Studio https://www.ananke-studio.com/ , a venture into the world of 3D. He was amongone of the first to produce computer-generated imagery (CGI) for high-end jewelry, collaborating with the most prestigious names in the luxury industry. Today, he continues to create cutting-edge CGI work for high-end jewelry, working remotely from Mauritius through Ananke Studio, while exploring new image-making technologies and continuing to innovate in the field.
